Comic Rental, Heaven For Avid Comic Readers.

In Bandung, when you know a person told you that comic culture is dead, you’ll know that they lied. Bandung is one of Indonesia’s biggest city and perhaps one of the city with most avid comic readers. In Bandung, comic rental bussiness doesn’t seem like a bad idea.

Wednesday (26/5), Jurnal Flash visit one of the most visited comic rental in Bandung, ComicZone at Tubagus Ismail Road 2F. Although it’s a busy afternoon at Bandung, this place is still packed with people reading comics, novel and relaxing. Divided into two parts, ComicZone and Manga Cafe, this place serve more than 10 people a day.

They rent comics and novel, or maybe read it at once while relaxing and enjoying the solitude at ComicZone. One of the comic fan we met, Rizky (24) has already reading comics from high school until now. “I like to rent comics because it’s cheaper than buying one. And I spend under 50 thousand Rupiahs to rent comics per month”, says Rizly. This is a proof that not everyone read comics, because it’s an culture worth paying for the avid fan. (NTP)

  1. Very good. An offbeat lifestyle plus consumer interest. Questions: How much does ComicZone make? Statistics if they have them... customers etc? Whoever wrote the headline could get a copy editor's job.....
