EXHIBITION FSRD ITB at GSG


Students of Bandung Institute of Technology exhibit a thousand artworks


Actually, Gedung Serba Guna (GSG) Bandung Institute of Technology always used for indoor sport room, but now GSG has a different function become exhibition room for a thousand artworks from students of Faculty of Arts and Design (FSRD) Bandung Institue of Technology.

Students Faculty of Arts and Design (FSRD) Bandung Institute of Technology, organizing an exhibition, theme is “Sidik Jari”. This exhibition display a thousand works from 216 FSRD students. Aside from being a form of appreciation of the work of student assignment, this exhibition was also shown to the public as the socialization of the artistic education by institutions of formal education.

The event was held from June 25 until May 26, 2010, not only exhibiting the work of ITB students, but there was a performance from Live Painting from Tellthem and Astronautboys. The exhibition more crowded with some performance fromgreat band like Tabrak lari blues and Jodi in the morning glory parade. On the second day, 26 May 2010, committee from “Sidik Jari” held a talkshow, theme is Seni dan Lingkungan (Art and Environment) with Tisna Sanjaya as a speaker.

“The event was cool and creative”, said Doni, one of audience who comes to the exhibition. According to Doni who came with her friend, this event shows that the art students of Bandung Institue of Technology is very creative so that their works can be a source of inspiration for other students.

Exhibition "Sidik Jari" can be regarded as majors for the student exhibition ITB first generation, because their works will be assessed by their lecture who will recommend, what major should they choose. Now, Bandung Institute of Technology as several courses of study, namely art, Art Crafts, Visual Communication Design (DKV), Product Design, Interior Design.
